I have certain odd OCD tendencies (some of my family members are diagnosed or undiagnosed OCD, so I come by it honestly). For example, when I make a sandwich, the filling must go between the parts of the bread that touched (clearly that's how it fits together best), and any spreads (jelly, PB, mayo, etc.) must extend all the way to the crust, which is obviously the driest part of the bread.
I didn't realize this was odd until several years ago when a co-worker watched me make a sandwich. He said that he'd never seen a PBJ so perfectly made. I'm pretty sure the subtext was "I could make three of those in the time it took you to make one."

I beg your pardon. What is this "OCD thing" ? ?
Anytime mayonnaise (or mustard, or butter, or anything else!) is spread on bread, how else would you possible spread it? It's GOTTA cover every square inch of the exposed bread! Unthinkable to put spread on any other way - No way part of the bread is uncovered!
For the record, I would like to point out that the first time I ever watched you make a PB&J as an adult, you told me that you meticulously spread the ingredients because that's what son-the-younger required, not because of your OCD tendencies!
And yes, clearly the ingredients must be spread over the whole piece of bread...someone doesn't do that?!?! Ick!
Ahhhhhhh, I love my family. =D Wish I'd seen these comments sooner, but they're filed in a sub-folder in my email, so I missed them. Love my Daddy and my seester!
Ha ha cool blog..and i do the same thing with my pbj sandwiches so dont sweat it ;)
We moved from El Paso just before I turned 11 but that's still the type of climate my body prefers- dry. It's happy with a vast temperature spread. During the summer I prefer to go running when it's over 100 because the humidity is lowest. The hotter the better. I have gone running at 110F. I was beat afterward, but it felt so good running in that!
